Physical Acting Workshop - The Rasas
This two-day workshop is an exploration of the relationship between emotion, body, movement, and expression, and it is open to actors, dancers, movers, performers, and anyone curious about embodiment, emotional expression, physical communication, and self-exploration.
You do not need previous acting or movement experience.
The Rasa practice: the exercises explored in the workshop are drawn from the classical Indian performance text Nāṭyaśāstra and from the contemporary research and practice of theatre director and performance theorist Richard Schechner.
The work can be playful, surprising, sometimes uncomfortable, and often deeply energizing.
Through the practice, we explore our capacity to:
- become more physically expressive and available
- recognize and embody different emotional qualities
- expand habitual patterns of movement and expression
- transform emotional states into physical action and improvisational material

A focused one-day workshop taking complete beginners from the very first step through the core patterns that form the foundation of Brazilian zouk. Two instructors, one afternoon, everything needed to walk into a social dance.

La Casa Del Corpo is available for workshops, intensives, and private events that align with the studio’s ethos of conscious, embodied practice. The space features an 80m² Portuguese oak dance floor, a lounge, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower. We welcome facilitators and organizers working in movement, dance, somatic practice, and related fields.
